Noyo Harbor

My picture story of Noyo to Ten Mile begins here. This is the largest harbor between Eureka and San Francisco. It is the home of hundreds of commercial and private fishing boats. Growing up so many of my classmates' fathers were fishermen. On summer breaks, many teachers made more income salmon fishing than from their teaching salaries. Commercial salmon fishing is all but gone, but for a short season hundreds of private boats still enjoy this sport. Not to mention the many folks that get to enjoy the many whale watching boats operating out of Noyo Harbor.
